KS Trip

Last week our little family took a much needed break and visited with family in Kansas. The weekend trip was pretty rushed, but we enjoyed every moment of it. I was so glad to have packed plenty of spare clothes for Alanna since she ended up soiling her outfits. The worst was when she "exploded" in her diaper right when we arrived. We had her in her outfit that her Great Aunt Jennifer got her, but of course never got to see her in lol We also learned that you have to give yourself plenty of extra time traveling with a little one!

Friday 05.06.11

We first visited with family in Wichita area.

The little "bundle of joy" Alanna here with Tiffany, Addelyn (sp?), and Randy.

Alanna with Great Uncle Joe. He is telling her all about Billy lol

Great Aunt Jennifer feeding Alanna. The smirk is meant to make Grandma envious (shaking my head lol)

Saturday 05.07.11

First we visited with Cousins Tyler and Syd at their great new home. They are doing a wonderful job building their life together:)

Next visit was with Great Great Grandpa and Grandma Tucker. It was hot out!

Then we headed to Hutchinson.

First we stopped at Cousins Mike and Jamie's daughter Elyse's 1st birthday party. We missed the cake and unfortunately both Elyse and Alanna were in cranky moods! I was able to snap a few pictures of the two cuties though. Next year they'll really be able to play together.

And even though it was Elyse's birthday, they got Alanna a bag full of gifts. One is an outfit that I cannot wait for Alanna to fit in. I plan on having some professional pictures taken of her at that time. Soooo excited about that!

For dinner we met up with Great Grandpa and Grandma Stiggins. Alanna started fussing just as we finished. Josh, the awesome hands-on dad he is, took her and calmed her down. There is almost nothing more heartwarming than seeing my husband being such a loving father.

We excused ourselves for a few hours in order to go visit Great Great Great Grandma Wyatt who is in her 90s at the home. It was great to be able to visit and have her enjoy Alanna (for as long as she wasn't fussy!)
It was also very sad to see the effects of Alzheimer's and dementia. She has been through A LOT and we all admire her for it.

Alanna had one of the worst episodes of colic that evening until about 10 or 11 PM and Great Grandpa and Grandma Stiggins were unable to enjoy her.
They were able to spend some time with her the next morning before we left for home. Great Grandma Stiggins gave Alanna one of the best gifts ever. She had sewn her a beautiful quilt. Little girl will have that forever:)

This trip was way too short and it always makes us wish that all our wonderful family lived closer. We are truly blessed. Alanna will grow up knowing how much she is loved by so many. We couldn't ask for more than that. We are already looking forward to our next visit, which will be for a few days longer so that we can really spend some time with everyone rather than rushing from one to the other. Thank you all for making this short trip worth every moment! We love you guys!!!
