37 Weeks / 2 Weeks To Go!

Yes, you read it correctly. I only have 2 more weeks to go instead of 3! I saw my doctor this morning and he told me that I'm really only 1 cm dilated, but that he thinks that I'll be ready to deliver in a few weeks. He strongly urged me to schedule an induction at the earliest possible date at 39 weeks due to the fact that my hands and feet have become very swollen and the baby seems to be gaining 1 lb a week. He is worried I may develop preeclampsia ([pree-i-klamp-see-uh] –noun Pathology . a form of toxemia of pregnancy, characterized by hypertension, fluid retention, and albuminuria, sometimes progressing to eclampsia.). So, I of course I agreed. As of right now I will be scheduled to be induced on Saturday February 26th, 2011! That is if I don't go into labor on my own before that. It's kind of nice knowing when exactly you will be dealing with something so big. Although, I don't know if I want to complete this rollercoaster ride! My sister used to always say: "Do I dare get on the rollercoaster? If so, then that's the only step I need to take and the rest will happen on its own." (perhaps not in 100% those words, but that's kind of what it was about) I kinda want to step out of this rollercoaster now! Obviouly I don't have an option and I am REALLY looking forward to seeing and holding this miraculous creation who has been growing inside me.
