The Road To Discovery (The 2nd Time)

Well, it's been six months since our miscarriage in January and we are happy to announce that we are expecting again! I once again just had a feeling that I was and even tested 3 days before, but it came back negative. I then took another HPT on the day that I was expected to start my cycle and it was positive! Two days later and a week later I took more HPTs and all were positive. I went to see our Family Doctor a week later and he had some blood work done to confirm the pregnancy and provide a referral for my insurance in order to see my OB. The blood work came back also positive for pregnancy and my hGC level was 937, which was an okay number, but I'd like to have had it a little higher if going by the EDD dating. I did some reasearch on this number and found out that the numbers are vastly different from woman to woman and from pregnancy to pregnancy. The ultrasound is the one "exam" that will yield very accurate results and dating.

I just started my 7th week. This pregnancy is completely different in the way I feel and how my body is handling it. I'm taking that as a good sign. I'm also feeling really good about this pregnancy. I wanted to do something cute for my announcement to Josh, but anyone who knows me knows that I'm just not at all creative when it comes to things like that. On top of that, I was too excited and impatient to wait and tell him. So, my sweet husband, who is creative in ALL ways, got told to look on the bathroom sink when he got home lol That was just terrible of me. Honey, I hope you forgave me for being so lame! I love you lots! (batting my eyelashes)

About a week and a half ago, we had our first prenatal check up and ultrasound. Everything looked fine, but there was one concern. The baby measured 5wks 5days instead of 6wks 1day. My OB scheduled me for a 2nd ultrasound on Tue June 23 to make certain that everything was okay with the baby. The only two reasons for the baby's measurement are: 1) The baby is not growing according to the norm OR 2) I ovulated later than expected. Either one is a possibility in our case, so we have just been praying that it is the 2nd reason. Also, my hGC level at the last appointment was 6070. In a few days we will find out how the little one is exactly doing! For now everyone who knows is cautiously excited:)

  1. *shaking my head* at the impatience and pointing him to the bathroom sink.... You know what is funny? And i know i already told you this... but this time iiii heard a voice telling me you're pregnant and I even told Christina and then you called me the next day with the news! Guess we are still connected despite the distance and differences <3 I had a total good feeling about this one, too :/
